QA Analyst

Join our QA team in order to work on our first Opus, a cross-platform, large-scale multiplayer game based on a strong universe. You will contribute to driving the quality and build stability, acting as the ultimate "voice of the player", you will champion meticulous manual testing and provide critical, feedback directly to our development teams to ensure our game meets the highest of standards.
You’ll have the opportunity to innovate, learn and share. The studio will give you the environment and context to stay at the cutting edge of your craft.

Why this role matters?
This role is key because game quality, delivery and the player experience depends on it.
In the next months, you will help us deliver cross-platform builds ensuring they are compliant. Author and execute test plans across all build stages, applying proportional effort and the correct tools to maximise efficiency. Advocate for the player experience by serving as the go-to contact for game quality, consistently providing objective and actionable feedback.
Your future responsibilities and scope as a QA analyst at Opus 🎮
Create, update, and execute comprehensive test plans for specific features, mechanics, platforms, and scenarios
Debug, isolate, and meticulously report complex anomalies using Jira. You will track defects through their lifecycle and provide regular reports on build health and testing progress
Use Unreal Engine and its tools to investigate issues, manipulate the game state for reliable verification, and accurately reproduce complex bugs
Run and monitor the automation suite alongside the Senior QA Engineer to boost testing speed, reporting on results and identifying areas for expansion
Act as the "voice of the player." Work directly within development teams to verify fixes, facilitate periodic playtests, and provide qualitative gameplay feedback in recurring Agile ceremonies
Proactively assist Production and Senior QA in evaluating our testing pipeline, suggesting efficiency gains, and supporting others within the team with your manual testing expertise
What success looks like (first 3 months) 🚀
Provide clear, insights into the health and stability of the game at any given time
Preserve build uptime by ensuring crashes and blocking issues are promptly reported, triaged and verified
Run targeted, objective-driven playtests designed to efficiently capture multiplayer and high priority defects
Monitor internal channels to proactively catch, reproduce, and log spontaneous issues into our project management software
Consistently uphold core QA processes to guarantee reliable testing standards across the board
Deliver concise, high-quality QA reports that provide at a glance build health and drive clear next steps
Evaluate new content and provide constructive feedback, actively identifying unintended behaviours, exploits, and logical errors
The profile we are looking for at Opus 👾
Required skills (must have)
Hands-on professional testing experience with a solid understanding of testing standards and methodologies
Worked within Unreal Engine (or similar modern game engines) and familiarity with industry standard QA tools
Comfortable navigating Windows, MacOS, Android and iOS environments with technical autonomy
Effective English written and verbal communication skills
A solid grasp of games development terminology with the ability to clearly outline complex bugs
Experience working in team environments using Agile frameworks such as Scrum & Kanban
A genuine interest in games and quality, combining a growth mindset with the ability to foster a respectful and communicative team environment

Experience
2+ years (or equivalent) experience in a software based quality assurance role
Exposure to the core phases of games development or experience maintaining quality for a life game with consistent updates
Nice to have (but not necessary) 🍒
Love of Games: Has extensive gaming experience across desktop, mobile and console
Compliance: Knowledge of compliance testing and regional censorship
Certifications: ISTQB Foundation or Agile Tester Certification
Technical Troubleshooting: Can read error codes, parse crash logs and utilise Jira Query Language (JQL) to search for defects
Scripting: Basic scripting knowledge (Python, C#, UE Blueprints)
Release Experience: Worked within a development team that has shipped one title
Effective French written and verbal communication skills
